Directions and Locations, Lesson 1: learn how to say “here”, “there”, “over there” in Spanish

Hello! And Welcome to Your Daily Pinch of Spanish. Today's pinch is about locations. A short, simple lesson blog.
Let's begin!
Remember you can view three tables I prepared for you about Spanish pronunciation here, if you have any doubt. (**Update: This link doesn't work for now while I rebuild my blog here. I had to delete my old website.)
First, some words in Spanish for location:
Ubicación - (oo-bee-cah-see-ohn) location, position, whereabouts
Localización - (loh-cah-lee-sah-see-ohn) location, position
Posición - (poh-see-see-ohn) position, location

Now, to point to where things are located, these are the words you're going to use:
Aquí - (ah-kee) Here
The location of the object is with the speaker, or close to him/her. You have the object with you. It can also refer to the location where you are at.
Examples:
Aquí tengo tu lápiz - Here I have your pencil
Mi hermano va a estar aquí por dos días - My brother will be here for two days

Acá - (ah-kah) Over here
The location of the object is close to the speaker. As above, it also applies to the place where you are, but it's not as direct as aquí. You can be referring to something that exists in the area where you live, like for example 'Acá los inviernos no son tan fríos.' 'Over here winters are not too cold.'

Ahí - (ah-ee) There
The object is a little far from the speaker. You can point at it with your finger.
Examples:
Ahí está tu lápiz - There's your pencil
¡Ahí estás! - There you are!

Allí - (ah-gee) There
Refers to a place that's quite far from the speaker.
Examples:
Allí te veré mañana - I will see you there tomorrow
Allí venden naranjas - They sell oranges there

Allá - (ah-jah) over there
The place is far from the speaker; can even be talking about a different Country. You can't point at the place directly because it's not at eye range.
Examples:
Allá en Alemania - Over there in Germany
Él se fue para allá - He went there (to that place)

This is it for today, I hope you can understand this and that you find use in it. Any doubt, don't doubt in contacting me. Please share this lesson blog if you like it.
You can find me on Twitter or Facebook, too.

Until next time!
